El Pus Lives Up to the Hype

The beginning of a promotional article in "Fader" on Atlanta-based band El Pus reads "Rockstars, punks, rappers," which I suppose is their intended audience. The band was started by MCs Cufi and Cosmo, originally from Houston, and was discovered by Speech, the former front-man for ''90s hip-hop outfit Arrested Development.

The feminist pop-punk band Le Tigre will perform at Smith on March 1 in the Campus Center Carroll Room at 8 p.m. The groups Lesbians on Ecstasy and hey willpower will open.
Le Tigre is made up of Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson. Members of the New York-based band do not have a fixed role in each song, but rather they alternate between beat-making, lyric-writing and video-editing, and playing various instruments on stage.
