Smith Completes Building Projects Over the Summer

At the end of the summer season, Smith completed several building projects which included a new Kosher kitchen in Cutter-Ziskind as well as a new early childhood education building located on the Lyman Estate at Fort Hill. Other summer developments include renovations in McConnell Hall, as well as new roofs for both Lawrence and Morris House.

Parking Rules Amended, Adding Student Spaces

Attention Smithies with wheels: more parking spaces have been made available for you. However, there are new and modified rules you must heed. According to Paul Ominsky, director of Public Safety, "The change was triggered from conversations I had with people in the Smith community who all expressed a wide range of concerns over campus parking.

Thrift Store Set to Open On Campus

Women and Financial Independence (WFI), one of Smith College's newest and already most celebrated organizations, is once again on the verge of launching a new project. The much anticipated project known as SmiTHrift is in the process of creating and then establishing a thrift store on, or very close to, the Smith campus.

Changes already implemented on Sept. 1, 2005: > Paradise Road has been incorporated into the parking system with lined spaces requiring a student decal, and the Mandelle Road parking lot has been converted from a staff to a student lot. > During snow season, only registered vehicles will be allowed to park in campus snow lots.
