Smith Rugby ends season with loss to Coast Guard

Overall, this was a fall season of firsts for Smith Rugby: the first season for many of our rookies, the first season we've had a fundraiser with a local business - we hosted a team night at Local Burger on Oct. 19 - and the first season we've partnered with Friends of Jaclyn, a pediatric brain tumor awareness organization.
However, rugby - especially at Smith - is much more than a game of numbers.
We're a crazy bunch of rapscallions, who willingly throw ourselves into each other during the 10 hours we practice each week. We leave our pitch after practice every day knowing more than the day before, and depart from games with a strong sense of accomplishment, regardless of the score.
We don't only "ruck, maul, pillage and burn," but work together as a team, as a club and as a family to learn the secrets of the game we have all come to love.
We'll be on hiatus until the end of March, but you can find us in the gym and definitely in a nearby dining hall. If you see one of us around campus, come over and introduce yourself. We'll teach you how to tackle, and we'd would love to see you on the pitch in the spring!
